Housing
More than 1,000 students live on our campus. You'll learn a lot and have tons of fun, all while you prepare to live on your own.
Why live on campus?
Get the full Cal State Channel Islands experience and develop important life skills along the way. Living on campus has many advantages:
- Convenience: You’ll be steps away from classrooms and eateries and have constant access to study spaces and recreation facilities.
- Community: It’s easy to immerse yourself in all aspects of campus life, from attending events like movie nights to participating in student organizations.
- Connection: You’ll make lifelong friends with your roommates and floormates. And you’ll find support everywhere you go, from student wellness to campus activities.
- Confidence: Research shows that students who live on campus have higher GPAs and graduation rates than their peers.
Whether you live in Ventura County or are coming to our campus from across the state, nation or abroad, we can’t wait to welcome you to our residential community. Here, you’ll find a place to call your own.

How to apply for housing
Housing is guaranteed for incoming first year and transfer students who apply by the
