Jan. 22, 2024

The California State University (CSU) respects the rights of the California Faculty Association to engage in strike activity and takes seriously any such planned union action. All CSU campuses, including CSU Channel Islands, will remain open to serve students during a strike scheduled for Jan. 22-26, 2024. Arrangements have been made to maintain University operations and minimize disruptions to ensure the strike poses no hardships on our students.

CSUCI has not canceled classes or student services and there have been no changes to the published Spring academic calendar. Although some faculty will choose to strike and cancel individual classes or counseling appointments, others will work as usual. Students should check their class portals and/or contact each of their professors if they have any questions about whether they intend to hold class during that time. The University is taking steps to lessen the impact of strike activity on students and the strike will not interfere with students’ ability to complete their courses and graduate on time.

People coming to campus may experience traffic delays, but access to campus will be maintained and offices and facilities open to provide services and resources to students to help them prepare for the new semester. CSUCI will provide additional updates as needed to students and employees.
