2023-2024 RAZA Student Resource Guide; a collaboration between Inclusive Student Services and the Chicana/o Studies ProgramSept. 25, 2023 – Inclusive Student Services and the Chicana/o Studies program have teamed up to create a Raza Student Resource Guide (PDF, 15.5MB), a central resource for CSUCI’s Chicana/o/x and Latina/o/x students who want to learn more about finding community and getting involved on campus.

Chair of the Chicana/o Studies department, Jose Alamillo shares, “This resource guide also fosters ‘critical navigational skills’ that according to Tara Yosso helps historically underrepresented students maneuver through colleges and universities not created for communities of color in mind. By shifting the responsibility to the institution to recognize the aspirations and knowledge that Latinx students bring to campus, will make them feel more at home.”

The guide is intended to help Chicanx and Latinx students navigate their college journey and find the right support at the right time. Comprised of a comprehensive list of academic resources, student activities, and organizations, the goal is to inspire students to become involved with the campus and the community.
