The Advising & Registration sessions will occur in July while Orientation will be held in August. Please plan to attend both your Advising & Registration session and Orientation. Advising & Registration session dates are as follows:

  • July 8, 2025
  • July 9, 2025

  • July 15, 2025

During the admission process, students will select their session date and time. On-campus Advising & Registration sessions are encouraged for first year students in order to get hands-on support with their first semester schedule and familiarize themselves with their student success tools. For those unable to come to campus, some virtual options will be available.

What to expect for your first semester of enrollment:

  • CSUCI will pre-select five (5) courses for first-year students to enroll into for the fall semester during their Advising & Registration session through a guided registration process.
  • For most students, at least two (2) of your courses will be part of a learning community. Learning communities are cohorts of students in the same classes with a common theme and support provided by embedded peer mentors.
  • First year students should anticipate enrolling in a Math/Quantitative Reasoning course and an English composition course during their first academic year. You may be guided into one or both of these requirements during your first semester.
  • In May, you will receive a Joining the Pod survey regarding your first semester enrollment preferences. We will use your survey responses to help us pre-select the five (5) courses and potential learning community.
