
To promote and embrace a campus climate and culture that welcomes all forms of multiculturalism and diversity in order to ensure a safe and inclusive environment at CSUCI for working, living, and learning.

California State University Channel Islands is dedicated to improving the university environment for legally protected categories, including but not limited to nationality, religion, race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, veteran status, and sexual orientation.
Toward this end the commission which reports to the President shall be responsible for reviewing and making recommendations regarding:Commission meetings are scheduled on the second Tuesday of each month, 9:00 - 10:00 a.m., Broome Library Room 1710.
Ultimately, the goal of the Commission is to accomplish our stated mission of promoting and embracing diversity and multiculturalism at CSUCI by assessing our needs in these areas and engaging in open dialogue to identify and promote methods for improvement.
To accomplish this goal, the Commission is currently in the process of gathering information about diversity perceptions on campus through surveys and focus groups for students, staff and faculty. We anticipate that this information will help us develop and prioritize the specific plan of action to achieve our mission.
