The Academic Council provides counsel to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) on matters pertaining to the academic mission of the University. As such, the Council participates in divisional planning activities, assists the Provost with the coordination and implementation of strategic initiatives, recommends policies and procedures to the Provost, and generally addresses issues of concern to the academic community. The Academic Council fosters broad collaboration and consultation within the Division of Academic Affairs and includes representatives from the Dean’s Office, Academic Programs and Planning, Faculty Affairs, Academic Resources, Extended Education, the Library, Research and Sponsored Programs, Institutional Research, Planning and Effectiveness, Academic Advising, Faculty Development, Enrollment Services and the Academic Senate.
