Learning Communities support first-year students with building connections, exploring their interests, and developing the skills and confidence to succeed at CSU Channel Islands.
Through shared courses, peer mentorship, and engaging experiences both inside and outside the classroom, Learning Communities create opportunities for students to connect with peers, faculty, and campus resources while becoming active members of the university community.
Students who participate in Learning Communities report a greater sense of belonging on campus and increased confidence in their academic abilities. Participation in Learning Communities is also associated with stronger student engagement, persistence, and academic success.
