What is Academic Notice?

When an undergraduate student’s cumulative GPA or CSUCI GPA falls below a 2.0, they are placed on Academic Notice. Students must complete the Academic Notice process and meet with an academic advisor. Students should start with the semester action checklist.  Students on Academic Notice are limited to take 14 units only per semester while on Academic Notice.

All students on Academic Notice receive an email from an academic advisor inviting them to schedule an appointment. They are also added to a Guide for Students on Academic Notice Canvas course which has information on the Academic Notice Process. The canvas course includes policies as well as resources available to help students out.
