Mr. Stern is president of Ventura Investment Co., an investment real estate firm based in Camarillo, CA with offices in Las Vegas and Phoenix. The firm specializes in purchase, management and disposition of multifamily and commercial properties in the western United States, and was founded in 1958.
Ventura Investment Co. is ranked by the Pacific Coast Business Times as the second largest operator of residential properties in the California central coast region. The firm employs approximately 100 people and operates approximately 3,000 residential units and over 1,000,000 feet of commercial space. Mr. Stern is the key principal in twenty entities that own commercial real estate.
In 2010, Bart was appointed by the Superior Court as Receiver for the largest multifamily foreclosure case to date in the CA central coast region. The firm has managed special assets for other national lenders and Receivers.
Mr. Stern currently serves as Chair of the County of Ventura Property Tax Assessment Appeals Board, presiding over all commercial property tax appeal cases. He was appointed by the Ventura County Board of Supervisors. He is active in the California Receivers Forum, is Past President of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM Chapter 102) and is an approved expert witness by the Superior Court of California for commercial foreclosures and property management.
