Purpose

The Black Cultural Center seeks to provide a brave space with staff committed to supporting the advancement, academic excellence, and degree completion of Black students at CSU Channel Islands. The Black Cultural Center provides intentional, holistic, and co-curricular enhanced programming designed to promote cultural awareness, leadership development, and a sense of belonging. By fostering an inclusive environment, providing academic support, and promoting a positive self-image, the center aims to empower Black students to take full advantage of all the opportunities presented while actively engaging to strengthen the understanding of Black diasporic heritage and history.
