Provost for a Day, Experience Academic Leadership Firsthand
Each year, one undergraduate student will switch places with Dr. Lavariega Monforti and experience life as the Cal State Channel Islands’ provost by trading places with Dr. Lavariega Monforti on May 15, 2026!*
The Provost for a Day program is an immersive program designed to give students a behind-the-scenes look at university leadership and the decision-making processes that shape academic life on our campus. The nomination deadline is March 13, 2026, so nominate your favorite Dolphin today! Faculty, staff, peer/student and self nominations are welcome.
Your Provost Perks:
Park in Dr. Lavariega Monforti’s parking spot
Collaborate with the provost’s staff and academic leaders Sharpen leadership skills
Swag with the student’s name and Provost for a Day title
Dr. Lavariega Monforti Will:
Attend your classes (but not take tests!) Participate in extra-curricular activities Fulfill any on-campus work requirements
