CSUCI Police have systematically and thoroughly searched the campus and buildings and although the suspect has not been located, we believe the threat to the campus no longer exists. The criminal investigation is continuing by University Police. Classes and activities continue to be canceled for the remainder of the day; however, classes will resume tomorrow, Thursday, Nov. 1.

12:41 p.m.

At this time, there have been no additional incidents reported and law enforcement continues to monitor and assess the situation on campus. Employees should use precaution and secure their immediate work area. Further updates will be provided as soon as they are available.

12:18 p.m.

At 11 a.m. a student was physically assaulted in a bathroom of the 2nd story restroom of the Bell Tower and the suspect brandished a handgun. The suspect is described as a female, medium complexion, 24-25 years old, wearing a gray shirt, black pants and gray Converse shoes.

The weapon is described as a silver handgun and the suspect was last seen fleeing the second story of the Bell Tower.  Please stay away from the area. If you see the suspect please immediately call 911 and don't attempt contact. CSUCI Police and other law enforcement are currently searching the area now.

Classes are cancelled for the remainder of the day. If you're not on campus, do not come to the University until further updates. Another update will be provided within 30 minutes.
