The University is currently experiencing smoke blowing over the campus from the Tick Fire occurring in the Castaic area approximately 60 miles away from the campus.

The Ventura County Office of Emergency Services has confirmed that there are no fires in Ventura County and the campus is not currently being threatened by fire.

University personnel are monitoring air quality and out of an abundance of caution, air vents to campus buildings are being closed. Classes will continue today as scheduled.

People with respiratory or heart disease, the elderly and children should remain indoors. Close all windows and doors that lead outside to prevent bringing additional smoke inside. For additional information, visit vcapcd.org
