What is LSAMP / CSU-SPA
Initiated in 1994 with support from the National Science Foundation (NSF), the California State University Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (CSU-LSAMP) was a statewide, comprehensive academic support program dedicated to increasing the number of graduating individuals who face or have faced social, educational, or economic barriers to careers in the STEM disciplines from CSU campuses with a baccalaureate degree in the STEM disciplines. Initiated in 1993/94, the CSU LSAMP Alliance consisted of all 23 campuses when it was terminated by NSF in May 2025 but now continues as the CSU STEM Pathways Alliance. The program focuses on enhancing competitiveness for and success in graduate programs and professional careers in STEM.
