The Mission Based Centers Awards are granted to graduating seniors who best exemplify one or all of the principles of the University Mission Statement through academic activity, and/or extracurricular activity while a student at CSU Channel Islands.

Mission Based Centers Award Nominations

Nominations accepted from students, faculty and staff

All graduating seniors are eligible to be nominated. If you believe that the work of a student exemplifies one or more of the mission pillars, please submit an online nomination form along with a letter of recommendation from a CSU Channel Islands Faculty member.

The Center for Community Engagement Award

Granted to a student who exemplifies an education marked by academic and/or co-curricular service learning.
 

The Center for Integrative Studies Award

Granted to a student who exemplifies an education marked by integrative approaches from more than one discipline.


The Center for Global Engagement Award (formerly Center for International Affairs)

Granted to a student who demonstrates a widening of international perspectives.
 

The Center for Social Action Award (formerly Center for Multicultural Perspectives)

Granted to a student who demonstrates a widening of multicultural perspectives.
 

CSU Channel Islands Mission

Placing students at the center of the educational experience, California State University Channel Islands provides undergraduate and graduate education that facilitates learning within and across disciplines through integrative approaches, emphasizes experiential and service learning, and graduates students with multicultural and international perspectives.
