“Our students have worked hard for this moment. They have shown remarkable resilience and determination in the face of challenges along the way, and they have persisted. As they graduate, they carry with them the skills and knowledge gained from a CI education, equipping them for success in their future endeavors,” said CSUCI President Richard Yao. “We could not be prouder of their achievements, and we can’t wait to see what the next chapter holds for them.”

Philanthropist Linda Dullam, who has supported the University since its inception, will be awarded an honorary doctorate during the morning ceremony and alumna Dani Anderson, Ventura County’s first Disability Access Manager, will receive the same honorary doctorate at the 2 p.m. ceremony. Anderson will be the first CSUCI alumna ever to receive an honorary doctorate.

CSU Chancellor Mildred Garcia shared a message to be included in the Commencement printed program congratulating all CSU graduates and welcomed them into a network of well over four million CSU alumni and encouraged them to stay in touch with their respective alma maters.

“As we celebrate your accomplishments today, I hope you’ll take a moment to consider how much you’ve changed since you first set foot on campus,” Garcia said. “In your time at the California State University, you have transformed yourself from someone with big dreams on a quest for knowledge into a person empowered to make limitless contributions to our world.”
