Cal State Channel Islands (CSUCI) will welcome prospective students and their families to its Dolphin Open House on Saturday, Oct. 17, offering visitors an opportunity to explore campus, meet faculty and students, and learn more about life as a Dolphin.

The free event, which will run from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., is open to prospective students considering CSUCI for Fall 2027 and beyond, as well as their guests.

Throughout the day, faculty will open their laboratories, classrooms and offices to visitors, providing prospective students with a closer look at academic programs and opportunities across the University. Campus leaders and current students also will participate in sessions designed to give guests a firsthand perspective on the CSUCI experience.

The event is an opportunity for prospective students to experience the CSUCI community and determine whether the campus aligns with their goals for college.

“Choosing a university is a big decision, and we want students and their families to feel right at home when they visit CSUCI,” said Melissa Bert, CSUCI’s Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management. “Dolphin Open House is a wonderful opportunity to explore our campus, meet the people who make this community special and get a real feel for what it means to be a Dolphin. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to campus and help them imagine themselves here.”

Faculty and staff members will host a Resource Fair at the Central Mall, where visitors can get answers to questions about admissions, financial aid and student support services. Guests can also meet teams dedicated to helping students succeed throughout their college careers.

The event will feature guided tours of the campus and student housing, allowing visitors to explore academic, residential, and community spaces. Sessions and tours will also be available in Spanish.

Visitors can build their own schedules around the activities and information most relevant to them. In addition to academic and admissions sessions, guests can take part in activities throughout campus and collect giveaways.

Breakfast, lunch, dessert, and parking will be provided at no cost for attendees and their guests. Attendees are encouraged to register by Oct. 9 through CSUCI’s Dolphin Open House webpage and obtain more information and register.

The University welcomes people with disabilities to participate in its programs, activities and events. If you need disability-related accommodation or have questions about accessibility, please visit Event Access as early as possible, preferably at least 10 business days before the event.
