In 2009, September 11 was officially designated as a National Day of Service and Remembrance. It’s time to honor again those affected by the tragedy of September 11, 2001, by coming together to do good in our communities. 9/11 National Day of Remembrance

  • Date: Friday, Sept. 12
  • Time: 9 a.m. to Noon (please arrive by 8:45 a.m.)
  • Location: Peace Pole (at Central Mall across from Sierra Hall and the Student Union)
  • Project Description: Join CSUCI students, faculty, and staff for a volunteer project maintaining the Modoc Gardens on campus.

Activities will include:

  • A short, guided tour of the garden
  • Weed & plant nectar flowers/succulents
  • Learn about composting, hoop house gardening, & invasive species
  • Learn how the harvest supports the Dolphin Pantry
  • Create pollinator garden signs

Tools will be provided, lunch is included and will be served at Noon.
