Jeff Tedmori, ’15 B.S. Business

Current employer and job title: Patagonia – Finance Administrator
Describe what you do in your job. My job has numerous functions. I am currently in the process of implementing a travel and expense tool for Patagonia North America. I also support the VP of Finance to prepare presentations for the board of directors and other various meetings. Lastly, I support the director of corporate development and our venture arm ($20 million and change), which invests in likeminded soil, water and clothing companies across the world that are making a difference in their sector.
What do you like most about your work? The best part about my job is being able to work for a company that is truly working hard to make a difference. As a company we are transparent about what we do, and stand by the product we make. Also, surfing every day during lunch is always a plus!
Why was your CI major a good choice? How did it prepare you for your career? CI got me my job here at Patagonia. I have been with Patagonia since my junior year at CI when I was accepted into the Henry L. “Hank” Lacayo Institute Internship Program. I was lucky enough to be placed at Patagonia, and I have been here ever since. I wouldn’t be here without CI.
Are there any career and/or life highlights you would like to share? I got married in July! My wife (Bianca Barnes, ’15 B.A. Liberal Studies) and I sailed throughout college together at CI. We were the president and VP of the sailing team.
For you, what was the best thing about CI? Opportunity. I went into CI with no knowledge of how to be a leader. I left with endless amounts of leadership experience and knowledge, all because the opportunity to become a leader was at the fingertips of any student that wanted it.
