As we take on a virtual approach this summer, New Student Orientation has developed different avenues in which information can be shared with you. All incoming students are required to register for one Navigate CSUCI sessions. Navigate CSUCI sessions will provide students an opportunity to learn more about specific programs and services, as well as, crucial information to smoothly transition to CSUCI this fall. These offerings will take place in August. Sessions will be an hour in length, with a 45-minute presentation and 15 minute Q & A.

We will cover details about the Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loan programs including interest rates, repayment options, tools and resources as well as how to active your loans for the 21/22 aid year.  We will also cover Parent PLUS Loans, how to apply, and next steps.
Navigate CSUCI: How to be a Successful STEM Student 8/2/20214:30 PMThis workshop was created in conjunction with CI STEM students, faculty and staff to give incoming students an overview of critical STEM courses, elements for success, conducting research, how to build your networks as well as programs and resources available on campus to help you succeed within your major.
Navigate CSUCI: Meet the  Multicultural Dream Center 8/3/20213:00 PMJoin the Multicultural Dream Center (MDC) to learn about our programs, services, and events.  You will also have an opportunity to meet each staff member, and learn how they can each support your academic success at CI.  We will also have an interactive activity for you to get to know both the MDC Team and your peers.

This presentation will discuss topics that current CSUCI transfer student recommend other students know before they begin classes. This will also be an opportunity to speak to a current transfer student and ask questions about their experience.

You will also learn about the alternative transportation programs we offer to help you get to CSUCI if you do not have access to a vehicle or simply do not want to bring it to campus.

During this session you will learn important information regarding the differences and similarities between community college and CSUCI Disability Accommodations & Support Services (DASS), how to access DASS on-line Services and learn how DASS team members share responsibility with our students to create an accessible learning experience.

8/6/20213:00 PMLearn how to succeed from students who excel in their academic areas!  During this session, students will meet with fellow students who are also tutors at the Writing & Multiliteracy Center(WMC) and the Learning Resources Center (LRC).  Peer tutors will share their experiences as students and tutors, as well as survival tips.  There will be opportunities for break out discussions to answer questions relevant to major/academic areas or writing/communication.
Navigate CSUCI: Refund Calculations 8/9/20212:30 PMThis topic will help give students a better understanding about how refunds are generated when payments are applied onto a student account. We will go over what types of payments are refunded, how they are refunded and when they can expect to receive a refund.
