85+ members of six cross-divisional Inclusive Excellence Action Teams (IEAT) completed an inventory of all known DEIA work in their respective areas in Spring 2021, utilizing a uniform strategy designed for the purpose of collecting these data.
The six IEATs were invited to submit questions about DEIA initiatives they needed to learn about in order to complete their respective inventories. Those questions and their recipients were organized into an IEAT Requests for Inventory Help Google Sheet, and those questions were sent to individuals across campus via Qualtrics survey.
Completed inventories as of Fall 2021, showed the status of work that was collected by the various IEAT to that point. Those teams assessments of whether we were emerging, developing, or transforming, our campus through our DEIA efforts in these areas help to identify priorities and inform development of the IEAP. Going forward, assessment of where we are emerging, developing, or transforming, will take place through the Equity Lens Framework (ELF) and development of a campus DEIA dashboard. This impressive list of DEIA efforts throughout CSUCI’s history, largely uncoordinated and carried out not at an institutional level but by individuals who chose themselves as responsible for the work of advancing racial and social justice at CSUCI.
Data demonstrating the impact of these activities on student success (e.g., belongingness, retention, graduation) and/or campus climate were not discovered.
