President’s Advisory Council on Inclusive Excellence (PACIE)

The President’s Advisory Council on Inclusive Excellence was established in 2018 and provides a permanent space for conversation with and guidance for the President on matters of equity and justice. Its charge is to advance a culture of excellence, assisting the President in building social justice leadership capacity throughout the university and ensuring that campus dialogue and decisions at every level are rooted in the core values of equity, justice, and inclusivity. President's Chumash Advisory Council (PCAC)

The President's Chumash Advisory Council (PCAC) was established in March 2023 by the Office of the President and the Barbareño/Ventureño Band of Mission Indians (BVBMI) with the intent to build relationships, allyship, and collaboration intentionally and inclusively in support of Native American communities, interests, and priorities. The PCAC is committed to positive land stewardship, building relevant cultural protocols, and regulatory compliance, so CSUCI representatives serve on the Cultural Resources Management (CRM) Team and are responsible for Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) compliance.

Inclusive Excellence Action Themes (IEAT) 

In Summer and Fall 2020, a number of commitments to action and recommendations toward realizing racial justice at CSU Channel Islands were made by the President and the President’s Advisory Council on Inclusive Excellence (PACIE). Development of the Inclusive Excellence Action Themes (IEAT) Framework in January 2021 sought to bring focus of this plethora of racial- and social-justice oriented intentions, recommendations, and commitments into focus. Racial Equity Leadership Alliance (RELA) 

CSUCI is proud to be a member of the University of Southern California (USC) Racial Equity Leadership Alliance (RELA). This alliance, created by the USC Race and Equity Center, serves as a tool to achieve our goals towards advancing racial and social justice on our campus. Learn More

Planning, Acting, Coalescing, and Transforming (PACT) for Peace 

PACT for Peace was created in 2022 in response to the grief and helplessness felt in the aftermath of yet another mass shooting. PACT was designed not only to protest and overcome the scourge of gun violence in America’s schools and broader communities, but to provide comfort and connection as we work together in this essential realm to advance CSUCI’s educational mission.
