    • Good news! During the Summer the membership fee is waived for registered CI Faculty/Staff.

  • Community Members*: Must be sponsored by a current CI Student* or a paid CI Faculty/Staff member**, and pay the daily use fee.

    • A valid photo ID is required at check-in.

General Membership Questions

What is a Dolphin Passport membership?
A Dolphin Passport membership is a Campus Recreation membership that allows eligible participants to access the Recreation Center and participate in most Campus Recreation programs and services.

Who is eligible to use the Recreation Center?
CSUCI students, faculty/staff, alumni, CSU affiliates, and sponsored community members are eligible to obtain memberships or passes for Recreation Center access.

Do CSUCI students have to pay for access to the Rec Center?
Most CSUCI students receive free access as long as they have paid the applicable campus recreation fees.

What is included with a semester membership?
Semester membership holders may use the Recreation Center during informal recreation hours and access most Campus Recreation programs and services.

Can alumni purchase an annual membership?
No. Alumni may purchase daily passes or semester memberships, but annual memberships are not currently offered to alumni/community members.

What is the difference between a daily pass and a semester membership?
A daily pass allows access for one day only, while a semester membership provides access throughout the academic semester.

Are Campus Recreation memberships refundable?

Can someone use the Rec Center without being a student?

Can part-time students use the Recreation Center?
Yes. Part-time students are eligible if they are Dolphin Passport holders and meet participation requirements.

Do international students receive free memberships?
Not automatically. Non-fee-paying international students must complete the separate membership payment process listed on the Campus Recreation website.

What happens if a student has not paid campus recreation fees?
They may not receive free membership access until the required campus fees are paid.

Are graduate students eligible for membership benefits?
Yes. Graduate students are eligible to participate if they are valid Dolphin Passport holders.

Can a student bring a guest to the Rec Center?
Yes, but guests/community members must be sponsored by a current student or paid faculty/staff member and pay the required daily use fee.

If a student graduates mid-semester, can they continue using the facility?

Facility Usage & Policies

What are the Rec Center hours during finals week?
During Finals Week:

  • Monday–Wednesday: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • Thursday–Friday: 9:00 AM–2:00 PM
  • Saturday & Sunday: Closed

Is the Rec Center open during holidays?
The Recreation Center closes during certain holidays including Labor Day, Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day Weekend, and others listed on the website.

What happens if the facility closes unexpectedly?
Campus Recreation posts modified hours and closure notices online. Hours and access policies are subject to change.

Are there different hours during summer?
