Rebecca Slocum

Rebecca Slocum

Rebecca is a native Floridian but has been calling California home since 2018. She earned her BS in Psychology at Florida State University (FSU) and has made a career in higher education since 2012. Prior to joining Channel Islands in 2019, she has worked for FSU, the University of Florida, and Santa Fe College. Currently, Rebecca is the Academic Scheduling Analyst in the Registrar's Office and oversees semester schedule data entry and publication university wide. She earned her MA in Education with an emphasis in Disability Studies in 2022 and strives to incorporate advocacy and accessibility in everything she does at CI.

Sean Kramer

Sean Kramer

Sean joined Channel Islands as a Staff Member in Fall 2018. He started as a Temporary Employee and was hired as the Advisement Systems Analyst in September of 2020. Sean received his bachelor's degree in business from California State University Channel Islands. He is currently working towards a Master of Business Administration at California Lutheran University. Prior to working as a staff member on the Student Systems team, Sean worked in Admissions and Recruitment as a Lead Student Ambassador.

Shannon Fitzpatrick

Shannon Fitzpatrick

Shannon is a proud CI alum from the class of 2022, having received his bachelor's degree in Communication with a minor in Computer Science. He currently works in Faculty Affairs and Faculty Development within the Division of Academic Affairs, performing the administrative work necessary to drive the resources, programs, and services that support our faculty. Prior to joining the Staff Council Executive Board, he assisted with creating our newsletters for Spring 2023, as a non-member volunteer on the Communications Committee. Outside of work, he enjoys music, nature walks, travel, and catching up with friends.

Colleen Haws

Colleen Haws

Colleen joined Channel Islands in October 2002 as an Administrative Coordinator for the Police Department. Since then she has served in various roles for the Public Safety Department. For the past 15 years she has served as the Business Services Analyst; managing budget and administration for the Police, Transportation and Parking, and Environmental Health and Safety departments. Colleen has served on the Staff Council since 2018 and was the 2022-2023 Ways and Means Committee chair.

Amanda Sanchez

Amanda Sanchez

Born and raised in Ohio, Amanda joined CI in the spring of 2014. She earned her B.A. in International Studies from The Ohio State University (OSU).  Amanda was initially hired as a temporary hire in the Mathematics Department.  Since her arrival she has worked for the School of Arts and Sciences (A&S) and has enjoyed varies roles over the years. Amanda is currently an Academic Program Analyst for Global Studies, History, Political Science, and the Master of Public Administration. She earned her M.A. from Channel Islands in 2020, in Higher Educational Leadership. She began volunteering on campus as a member of the Chicana/o Latina/o Faculty and Staff Association (ChiLFASA) shortly after arriving and has not stopped her involvement since. Amanda has served as ChiLFASA’s secretary, a member of ChiLFAS’s marketing and communication committee and has served on hiring committees for A&S and the University. When she is not working, she enjoys time with her husband, kids, and family, while trying to make time for baking, and playing sports (golf and tennis). Amanda looks forward to continuing to give her time with this new opportunity on Staff Council.
