Given the unpredictability of ongoing financial support broadly for higher education, CSUCI must determine how to ensure that we have the necessary economic and physical resources to meet the needs of a growing population of students and the University’s ongoing commitment to our region. Over the past year, the campus laid important groundwork for identifying and pursuing campus-level strategic initiatives that will support the continuous enhancement of our institutional capacities and effectiveness to provide equitable, affordable, and transformative education to our diverse and growing student population.
This year we are building on these efforts by implementing a process to align resource allocations to support these strategic initiatives. As a first step, we are introducing a process in the budget planning cycle for the Strategic Resource Planning Committee (SRPC) to review and make recommendations on strategic initiative proposals submitted for funding.
