These facilitated opportunities take place in the form of in-person and virtual workshops and more intensive multi day or week programs.

Embedded Peer Educator Collaboration Faculty (EPEC) Institute

In partnership and support of CSUCI’s Learning Resource Center’s (LRC) student success efforts, EPEC is a Summer Institute designed to  support faculty in personalizing integration of an Embedded Peer Educator (EPE) in their course(s). Embedded Peer Education through the Learning Resource Center (LRC) is defined as  academic support to enhance the learning environment.  An Embedded Peer Educator (umbrella term) is a peer educator (student) who has been successful in the course previously placed back into the same course working under the instructor's guidance to support student success.

EPEC’s design is grounded in the understanding  that each  discipline, instructional style, and class context represents unique learning and learner needs. Through asynchronous and synchronous reflection and community engagement, EPEC consists of curated learning pathways via Canvas  that support faculty in exploring and selecting content and strategies that align with their specific teaching context. Supported by the generous gift from Jeff Green, EPEC will be offered again Summer 2023. For specific information regarding future offerings, contact LRC Director, Brook Masters.

Course Feedback & Personalize Learning Pathways

At CSUCI we are committed to providing high quality courses for all students, in all modalities.

TLi Learning Design Course Feedback Consultants are trained in applying the Quality Learning and Teaching (QLT) Rubric to provide personalized feedback on areas of strength and opportunities in a course. Course feedback is faculty driven, not evaluative, but simply another pathway to support and engage collegial conversation regarding course design, facilitation, and digital tools.

We are in the process of reimagining our former feedback process. During Spring 2023 we plan to pilot a course feedback process that includes:

  • Faculty electing to complete a Course Feedback Request Form.
  • Faculty identify a specific focus for course feedback by first completing a course self-audit to guide personal reflection and goal setting.
  • Faculty deciding if they would prefer a curated list of untethered (independent asynchronous) resources and learning experiences. Or,
  • To invite a feedback consultant to independently explore their course and provide written feedback documentation and a list identifying areas of strength, opportunities, and recommended action items.
