Our services aim to facilitate access to post baccalaureate programs, to promote student success and program completion, and to foster professional, personal, and workforce development.

January 31 (11:00 a.m. & 5:00 p.m.) - Graduate Studies Center: Who We Are: This workshop is designed to provide information on the Graduate Studies Center and the services it provides to current undergraduate and graduate students, as well as alumni and community members. Come learn how the Graduate Studies Center can assist you in pursuing, planning and organizing your postbac goals.

February 8 (5:00 p.m.) - EndNote Web Tutorial: EndNote Web is a bibliographic citation management software that offers a MS Word widget for formatting in-text citations and references on the fly. Attendees will learn the basics of collecting, revising, and organizing citations, and adding citations to a MS Word document.

February 10 (10:00 a.m. & 2:30 p.m.) - Applying to Graduate School 101: This workshop covers the important steps of preparing for and applying to graduate school. Discover resources to help you identify and choose potential graduate and professional school programs. Learn about how to make yourself a more competitive applicant, get an overview of the application process, or get specific questions answered.

February 16 (12:00 p.m. & 5:30 p.m.) - APA Citations: Confused about APA style or want to improve how you cite in your academic writing?  APA style is a popular system of citation in scientific research writing. This workshop provides a general overview of APA style, reviews examples of popular in-text and reference citations, and gives you an opportunity to practice citing in APA style.

February 22 (10:00 a.m.) - Graduate School for DREAMers: This session provides information and resources on important topics related to the graduate school application, specifically for AB540 and undocumented students.

February 28 (12:00 p.m. & 5:30 p.m.) - Effective Presentation Skills for Graduate Students: Want to give a presentation that people actually want to watch?  This workshop helps students understand and employ effective oral and design skills to better communicate and engage with audiences in a technical slideshow presentation.
