The Graduate Studies Center (GSC) is dedicated to providing academic, professional and personal support services for post baccalaureate students at CI. Our services aim to facilitate access to post baccalaureate programs, to promote student success and program completion, and to foster professional, personal, and workforce development.

Tuesday, September 27th, 11 a.m.- 12 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.- 5:30 p.m. Maintaining a Healthy Balance Among Multiple Life Roles: Students will learn how to balance multiple life roles and discover tools & resources necessary to help promote self-care and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Monday, October 10th, 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. - 6:15 p.m.EndNote Web Tutorial: EndNote Web is a bibliographic citation management software that offers a MS Word widget for formatting in-text citations and references on the fly. Attendees will learn the basics of collecting, revising, and organizing citations, and adding citations to a MS Word document

Monday, October 17th, 5 p.m.-6 p.m.Effective Presentation Skills for Graduate Students: Want to give a presentation that people actually want to watch?  This workshop helps students understand and employ effective oral and design skills to better communicate and engage with audiences in a technical slideshow presentation.

Thursday, October 27th, 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.-7 p.m.Writing a Personal Statement for your Graduate School Application: Get started in writing a memorable personal statement!  This workshop introduces students to the genre of the personal statement and how to organize information to tell a more powerful story about your fit to a graduate school program.

Wednesday, November 9th, 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. and Wednesday, November 15th 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.Graduate School vs. Full-Time Work: This workshop is designed to help students consider the benefits and limitations of attending graduate school versus working full-time post-graduation. Learn how to analyze your options and prepare for life post-graduation.
