Arts & Sciences Program Chairs and Coordinators

Program chairs are current faculty members in an academic program who serve as the administrative leader of a program in addition to their rights and duties as a faculty member. As such, program chairs serve as a liaison between faculty within the program and the administration, communicating the program’s needs to the administration, and keeping the faculty and staff informed of university policies, procedures and initiatives. Of primary importance is the chair’s ability to provide effective leadership and direction for academic programs, to foster productive communication within the program, and to facilitate program goals.
