If you’re looking to move your career—and your life—forward, but aren’t interested in pursuing a degree, these programs at California State University Channel Islands (CI) are for you. These programs are offered primarily through CI’s Extended University. Because student fees—not state fees—fund Extended University, we have more flexibility to create programs and offer locations that meet the needs of busy adults like you.

Certificate Programs

  • Business Administration—for anyone who wishes to advance their career and satisfy the prerequisites for our MBA program.

  • Clinical Laboratory Sciences—A post-baccalaureate certificate program providing an academic and clinical route to professional certification as a generalist Clinical Laboratory Scientist.

  • Chemistry—this is the equivalent of earning a chemistry minor.

  • Digital Media Art—prepares you for an entry-level career in this growing field.

  • Guitar—prepares you for a career as a professional guitarist working in a diverse range of musical styles, and culminates with a recital/lecture or a CD recording project in their senior year.

  • SHRM PHR/SPHR Certification Prep Course—offered in cooperation with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Learning System®, this course provides in-depth study of key human resource management areas and professional development opportunities.
