1. Can I use my in-progress coursework to fulfill admission requirements?
Yes, but all admission requirements must be completed before the first term at CSUCI. Admission is considered provisional until any in-progress coursework is satisfactorily completed and documented on official transcripts.
2. Where can I find my login information Dolphin login information to access my Applicant Portal?
Your Dolphin ID (number) and Dolphin Name (username) are emailed to the address provided on your application for admission. You will need this information to create a myCI account. Contact admissions@csuci.edu if you can't find the information.
3. Where do I find my Dolphin student ID number?
Your Dolphin ID number is in myCI Records. Click the link “Demographic Data” under personal information, and your Dolphin student ID# should be listed there. If you haven't activated your account, you will need to go through that step first using the information emailed to you when you submitted your application.
4. How do I check my admission status?
Your Applicant Portal is where you will find your admissions status. If you're admitted, it will also provide you information about your next steps. To login to your Applicant Portal, you will need to have access to your Dolphin student ID number and username, which were emailed to the address provided on your application for admission.
5. Can I change my major?
If admitted to CSUCI, you will be given instructions on how to change your major during your scheduled Advising & Registration session. Please make sure you have signed up for the orientation session that corresponds with your intended major.
6. When will I meet with an academic advisor?
Within your Applicant Portal you will find in-person and virtual options for meeting with your academic advisor. These will become available to you once you have submitted your required documents, specifically official transcripts and AP or IB test scores.
7. May I defer my admission to a later term?
CSUCI allows students to request a deferment of their admission to the next available term. If it has been more than one term, the student will be required to complete a new application and pay the required fee. Updated transcripts are required for coursework that has been completed, or is in progress of being completed, since first being admitted to CSUCI. Students may request a one-time deferral by emailing Admissions (admissions@csuci.edu).
