Academic Advising and Course Registration - Advising

New students must choose their Academic Advising & Course Registration session. All students, regardless of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin, who are interested in our Academic Advising & Course Registration sessions are welcome.

We encourage you to attend both your Academic Advising & Course Registration session (December) and Orientation (January - For more information, visit New Student Orientation) to ensure a successful start to your journey.

Spring 2026 Transfer Academic Advising & Course Registration

Advance registration for Spring 2026 is now closed.
Students who did not register before December 2 will be able to register in January after their Orientation. Academic Advising & Course Registration assistance will be available from 3–5 p.m. immediately following each Orientation session. For more information, visit New Student Orientation

What to Expect at your Transfer Academic Advising & Course Registration session

Academic Advisors will provide guidance on selecting your first semester courses during your Academic Advising & Course Registration session and through an online course in CI Learn (Canvas).
Important Reminder: Please submit your college transcripts promptly, even if coursework is still in progress. Doing so ensures accurate placement in your classes.
- Transfer credit will be posted to your record at CSUCI before your Academic Advising & Course Registration session, enabling you to use various Student Success Tools such as your CI Academic Requirements Report (CARR) and Degree Planner (csuci.edu/gradtools).
Tuition and other fees for Spring 2026 are due January 2026. Detailed information on payment deadlines can be found on the Student Business Services
The New Student Onboarding process continues with Orientation in January.

Fall 2026 Academic Advising & Course Registration Dates

New Fall 2026 first-year & transfer students will select their Academic Advising & Course Registration session date during their next steps in the admission process. The Academic Advising & Course Registration sessions will occur in May, June, and July, while Orientation will be held in August. Please plan to attend both your Academic Advising & Course Registration session and Orientation. Academic Advising & Course Registration session dates for Fall 2026 will soon be available.
