Students that began their attendance at CSUCI in the Fall 2025 or later should follow the Graduation/Degree Requirements listed below.
*Transfer students who completed the CSU GE or the IGETC pattern at the community college will have their GE requirements fulfilled.

General Education Requirements
- Subject Area 1 • English Communication (9 units)
- Subject Area 2 • Mathematical Concepts and Quantitative Reasoning (3 units)
- Subject Area 3 • Arts and Humanities (6 units)
- Subject Area 4 • Social and Behavioral Sciences (6 units, 2 different disciplines)
- Subject Area 5 • Physical and Biological Sciences (7 units)
- Subject Area 6 • Ethnic Studies (3 units)
Upper Division General Education - UDGE
- Upper-Division Subject Area 5 • Science or Subject Area 2 Mathematical Concepts/Quantitative Reasoning (3 units)
- Upper-Division Subject Area 3 • Arts and Humanities (3 units)
- Upper-Division Subject Area 4 • Social and Behavioral Sciences (3 units)
American Institutions Requirement
- U.S. History (choose one from: HIST 270/ 271/ 272/ 275/ 350)
- U.S. Constitution, California State and Local government (POLS 150*)
Language Requirement
- 1 semester college level foreign language other than English (with a grade of C- or better)
Multicultural Perspectives Requirement
- Satisfied through an approved GE course designated by MP or by an articulated community college course.
Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement (GWAR)
- 1 GWAR course with a grade of C- or better (already built into each major)

Residency Requirements for CSUCI
- 30 units completed at CSUCI (excludes Open University and extension)
- At least 24 of the total required units for graduation must be in courses numbered 300-499 for a Bachelor of Arts degree.
- At least 27 of the total required units for graduation must be in courses numbered 300-499 for a Bachelor of Science degree.
An overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 is required
- Total courses attempted (combined CSUCI and Transfer)
- CSUCI courses attempted
- Courses in the major
- Courses in the minor (if applicable)
