Whether you are engaged in formal program level assessment or Program Review, if you are an instructor here at California State University Channel Islands, you should be (and likely already are) engaged in assessment in the individual courses you teach.

Course-level assessment is the process of gathering and analyzing information about how well students are meeting course-specific learning objectives with the goal of continually improving the learning experience for students. This often involves using tools like exams, assignments, projects, or discussions to evaluate student understanding, and then using that information to improve teaching and support student success. It’s not just about grading, it’s about finding out what is working well in a course and what might need adjusting.

We have a lot of resources for instructors looking to bolster assessment efforts and enhance the experience of students in their courses.
