The Chicana/o/e/x Latina/o/e/x Faculty & Staff Association (ChiLFASA) at CSU Channel Islands. ChiLFASA is volunteer-run affinity group that supports the professional and personal development of its members as well as cultural activities and events related to the Chicana/o/e/x Latina/o/e/x population on campus and the surrounding communities. The group members serve as mentors to each other and to Chicana/o/e/x Latina/o/e/x students on campus. ChiLFASA also serves as a liaison between the University, alumni, and community at large concerned with issues pertaining to faculty, staff, students, and programs at CSUCI.
Anyone supportive of the organization’s mission are welcome to join as members! There are many ways members can choose to be involved and show support, all ways are welcome! For example:
- Advocate: Pay membership dues (affords voting rights and branded member swag)
- Engage: Pay membership dues (affords voting rights and branded member swag), attend meetings and/or events
- Serve: Pay membership dues (affords voting rights and branded member swag), attend meetings and/or events, join or lead a committee or run for a board position
