Formerly known as HSI Initiatives, SASEI has competed for and been awarded nearly $30 million in external grants from the U.S. Department of Education, the National Science Foundation, California State University’s Chancellor’s Office, and other funding sources. These funds have allowed SASEI to build institutional capacity to advance student success at CSUCI as well as in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties through several initiatives.
To meet goals that align with CSU’s Graduation Initiative 2025, SASEI has partnered with departments across campus as well as with local and regional institutions of higher education, area high schools, and community-based organizations on various projects. All of these projects have received funding from one to seven years topping $5.99 million.
