The Yardi Scholar Experience
The Yardi Scholars Program operates on a cohort model, meaning scholars progress through the program together as a community. Each cohort consists of 25 students, creating a close-knit group that fosters collaboration, peer support, and shared learning experiences that strengthen student success.
Scholars are supported by one dedicated program staff member who serves as their primary advisor and point of contact throughout their time in the program. This staff member provides ongoing guidance, academic support, and connection to campus resources to help scholars successfully navigate their college journey.
Throughout their time at CSU Channel Islands, scholars participate in a variety of experiences designed to build community, strengthen academic skills, and prepare them for success in college and beyond.
The program includes:
Cohort Courses
Structured learning experiences designed to support the transition to college and
strengthen academic success strategies.
Cohort Dinners and Gatherings
Regular opportunities for scholars to connect with one another and program staff in
a supportive environment while building meaningful relationships.
Annual Cohort Excursions
Experiential trips that allow scholars to explore new places, engage with educational
opportunities, and expand their perspectives outside the classroom.
Mentorship and Support
Ongoing guidance from the program’s dedicated staff member and peer community to help
students navigate academic, personal, and professional development throughout their
time at CSU Channel Islands.
By combining financial support with intentional community-building experiences, the Yardi Scholars Program helps students stay focused on their goals, build confidence, and fully engage in the CSU Channel Islands experience.
