How does giving to CSUCI benefit me?
When you make a gift to CSUCI you benefit in several ways. First, you get the satisfaction of knowing that you are investing in students and their futures through your support of higher education. Second, you are investing in the economic health of our community. Third, you can deduct all or a portion of your gift on your tax return (check with your tax preparer for details).
Can I give to a specific area?
Yes. Our Give to CSUCI homepage lists the causes most important to the University and our students. You may also contact the Advancement office to speak with a representative about ways to earmark your gift.
Where does my gift go if I don’t stipulate a specific area?
If a gift is not earmarked then it is considered “unrestricted” or undesignated for a specific use. These types of gifts are especially important because they support the University’s greatest needs. Many of these needs are high-priority, newly emerging, unbudgeted projects for which state funding and other resources are insufficient. Examples include: scholarships, faculty teaching awards, capital projects, targeted academic disciplines and programs.
Is it possible to make an anonymous donation?
Yes. You can include a note with your contribution indicating your wish to remain anonymous.
I cannot make a large donation, will my contribution be helpful?
A gift, no matter what size, can have a tremendous impact. For example, 500 gifts of $10 can provide scholarships for five deserving students.
What is a matching gift?
Employers often match charitable contributions. The University recognizes your employer’s contribution and credits it to your giving record. Check with the human resources department of your company to ask if a matching gift program is available.
