The CSU IP application process is completely online, simple, and totally free!

How do I apply?

To create an application, visit the CSU IP program overview page, click on your top choice program, and hit the "Apply Now" button on the program page. 

What are the parts of the CSUIP application?

  • Basic applicant information
  • 3 one-paragraph essay questions
  • GPA statement (required only if your GPA is less than the stated GPA minimum)
  • Scholarship application (optional)
  • Passport info
  • Unofficial transcript from all colleges/universities attended
  • Proposed courses while abroad. To find courses offered at the host institution, read the Academic Bulletin for your program
  • Second (and possibly third choice) program options
  • Letters of recommendation (request at least one month in advance of the deadline)
    • Faculty recommendation
    • IP coordinator recommendation - request should be sent to international@csuci.edu
    • Language recommendation - only required for programs that require 4+ semesters of language prerequisites or native fluency

How are applications evaluated?

Every student's application will be reviewed by a committee of faculty members from across CSU campuses. Each application is reviewed holistically. 

How will I find out if I've been accepted? 

Approximately six weeks after the application deadline, students will receive a notification via email regarding a change in the status of their application. Decisions will be viewable through the student's CSU IP online portal.
