June 15, 2023 — The Writing and Multiliteracy Center is hosting two free virtual Summer Writing Boot Camps.
The STEM Edition Writing Boot Camp will be Tuesday, June 27, from 4 to 8 p.m. It is open to all majors, but Environmental Science & Resource Management Lecturer Dan Lenz will lead it.
The second Writing Boot Camp is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 3, from 4 to 8 p.m. It is open to all disciplines also and will be led by Writing and Multiliteracy Professional Koa Johnson.
The tutors are on standby to help with any hiccups that may come up, such as citations, grammar or flow.
The sessions provide a quiet, productive and monitored space to work on summer assignments. Studies in social motivation suggest that people persevere in finishing difficult tasks when they see others in the room doing the same thing.
Sign up on the registration page. Students must commit to attending the entire session.
