June 29, 2023 — The California State University, Chico, Center for Healthy Communities is providing $82,500 to bring the CalFresh Healthy Living Program to CSUCI.

Awarded to Julia Rose, Associate Director of Basic Needs, and Honey Krueger, Wellness Promotion Health Educator, the grant will pay for staffing and food. During the18-month program, Basic Needs and Wellness Promotion & Education staff will train student workers to present the Healthy Living curriculum. The project increases nutrition-related educational offerings for students, provides access to food and CalFresh benefits, and expands existing partnerships as encouraged by the Student Success Strategic Initiative.
