April 28, 2023 — The campus community and regional partners are invited to attend the Center for Community Engagement’s annual Celebration of Service on Thursday, May 4.

A Community-Based Research at CSUCI session has been added year as part of a broader series of events marking CSUCI’s 20th anniversary. This event, which will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the Grand Salon, is for faculty and community partners and will feature a presentation by Ethel Nicdao, a national leader in community-based participatory research and chair of the sociology department at California State University, San Bernardino.

A faculty and student service-learning poster session will be held from 11 a.m. to noon in the Grand Salon.

An awards luncheon will follow from noon to 1:30 p.m. in North Quad. CSUCI alumnus René García-Hernández, executive director for Arts Mentorship Program Santa Barbara, will speak at the luncheon.

Family members of students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend, but children’s activities will not be provided.
