June 16, 20233 - Assistant Professor of Health Sciences Thomas A. Clobes is the first CSUCI faculty member to receive a grant from Cottage Health Research Institute.
Cottage Health awarded Clobes $9,000 for his project “Relationship Between Cannabis Use and Opioid Prescribing Among Patients with Chronic Pain." Clobes, the lead principal investigator, and Matthew Kraybill, a clinical neuropsychologist with Cottage Health, will conduct the research through a medical records review of the not-for-profit health system.
Clobes applied for the research grant after a meeting between CSUCI faculty and Cottage Health Research Institute staff set up by Jill Leafstedt, Dean of Extended University and Digital Learning.
