Students participate in planting on Earth Day 2022.

March 28, 2023 — Earth Day is April 20, but CSUCI is taking it up a notch and celebrating the planet for the entire month at 16 different events.

CSUCI’s Bee Club and Native American Student Alliance will lead participants in planting a pollinator garden at North Quad on Thursday, April 13, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. People can help plant 20 trees in honor of CSUCI’s 20th Anniversary on Wednesday, April 26, from noon to 1 p.m. at the A3 parking lot. Shovels will be provided.

A participatory Theater of the Oppressed Workshop on Thursday, April 6 and 13, from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. will focus on the intersectional nature of climate and environmental justice issues. A Solarpunk and Hopepunk workshop where people will create narratives and art pieces to actualize a sustainable future will be held on Thursday, April 27, from noon to 1:50 p.m.

An Earth Day Bash is slated on Wednesday, April 19, from noon to 2 p.m. in the Central Mall.

The family-friendly events are open to all.
