Feb. 15, 2023 — The John Spoor Broome Library will reduce or remove charges for overdue materials through its Goods 4 Fines program.

Library patrons can receive $1 toward overdue fines up to $10 for every can or non-perishable, non-expired food or personal care item they donate to the CSUCI Dolphin Pantry. The credit cannot be applied to lost item processing or replacement fees.

Recommended items include canned goods, dry goods, toiletries and feminine hygiene products. Donations also are welcome from those who don’t owe fines. The Dolphin Pantry provides free food and toiletries to students in need.

Donations can be dropped off at the Circulation Desk or in the collection bin located in the Broome Library lobby. The program will continue throughout the year.
