May 21, 2025 - We have some exciting news to share! We are approaching an important
milestone in the development of the University's future: Gateway Hall will officially open its doors for the Fall 2025 semester. This state-of-the-art
facility has been years in the making and is a major step forward in our commitment
to providing first-class academic spaces and student services.
As noted by our longtime campus architect and Director of Planning, Design & Construction, David Carlson, “It’s something that’s been lacking on the campus — we’ve not had a ‘front door,’ and we’re finally getting that. Gateway Hall creates that first impression of the campus that we are a first-class university, with first-class facilities.”
Gateway Hall Highlights:
- One-Stop Welcome Center: Designed to serve prospective students and their families. The first floor will house a centralized welcome center and large meeting space.
- Academic and Student Spaces:
- First floor: Classrooms and a coffee shop.
- Second floor: Lecture space, booth seating areas, small study rooms, and a shared breakroom space with views of the building’s lobby.
- Third floor: Labs for Computer Science, Mathematics, Mechatronics (including a 20-foot ceiling for drone use), and game design.
- Technology and Comfort: Charging stations for mobile devices and flexible spaces for both individual and group study.
Department Relocations:
- Units from Sage Hall, including all of Enrollment Management, Student Business Services, and Extended University will transition to Gateway Hall.
- Marin Hall (west side): The first floor will be dedicated to the Enrollment Management team while the second floor will support Computer Science.
- Shasta Hall (east side): Will house Extended University programs, a large classroom, and all OSHER/OLLI programs.
