Feb. 13, 2023 — The National Endowment for the Humanities has awarded a $146,605 grant to Assistant Professor of Computer Science Eric Kaltman.
The grant funds the Game and Interactive Software Scholarship Toolkit, a software platform that enables the citation and reference of computational state for use in humanist and archival research. The tool is an extension of a previously developed and published system. It will link CSUCI to a growing discipline and connect the Computer Science program with other institutions using the tool.
The project will allow student researchers to develop a prototype, engaging them in research and software-development testing. Students also may use the tool for their own interdisciplinary work.
Kaltman is an expert in software preservation and history.
