We hope to engage broad, sustained campus engagement conversations about our institutional and academic identity for the coming decade and beyond. To do this, we are adopting a multi-pronged approach with virtual and in-person opportunities to gather, and with synchronous and asynchronous opportunities to provide feedback—all of which will inform creation of a white paper planned for completion by the end of this semester, which will itself mark the launching of our next full strategic planning initiative, CSUCI for 2030+.
This Vision Chat is a platform for every member of our community to actively contribute to shaping the direction of CSUCI. Whether you're a student, faculty member, staff member, community partner, or stakeholder, your insights, stories, and input are crucial to crafting a comprehensive and forward-thinking plan that truly reflects our collective ambitions and values.
How does Vision Chat generate its answers?
Vision Chat is an Expert AI Conversational Agent, built on the ProtoBots.ai platform, that has been trained on the documents and materials from President Yao’s One Health / CI 2030+ Campus Discussions. This includes the CSUCI for 2030+ white paper and audio transcript from the March 5 “Crafting our Vision: CI for 2030+” webinar. It has been configured as an AI assistant intended to engage in conversations and invite feedback about the vision.
You can ask the Vision Chat questions about the content or summary of the developing CSUCI for 2030+ vision, ask for more details or clarification about specific elements, or ask practical or critical questions about implementation. You can even speak with it in languages other than English.
Is my chat history linked to my identity? Who has access to my chat history?
Your participation is voluntary, and all interactions with Vision Chat will adhere to the highest standards of data privacy and security. Personal data will not be stored or used beyond the scope of this Vision Chat exercise without explicit consent. The Vision Chat asks for your role at CSUCI in order to tailor the conversation to you, but it does not collect personal or sensitive information from participants.
How will my feedback be used?
Summary notes and recommendations will be shared with the President and Select Committee to be considered in conjunction with other feedback collected from the multi-pronged, in-person and online campus engagement activities associated with CI 2030+.
