Academic Advising & Course Registration (AA&CR) provides optional advising support for incoming students. Academic advisors can help identifying courses that apply toward their degree requirements and reviewing their Spring 2027 class schedules.
You may register independently beginning on your assigned enrollment date. Do not wait for an advising appointment or AA&CR session to register. Enroll as soon as your assigned enrollment date begins for the best course availability.

Spring 2027 Advising opportunities
Academic Advising will offer the following opportunities for incoming Spring 2027 transfer students:
- December 7-10, 2026: a limited number of advising appointments will be available to eligible students, with both in-person and virtual options.
- December 16-18, 2026: AA&CR group sessions will be offered in person only.
During an appointment or group AA&CR session, an Academic Advisor can help you:
- Identify courses that apply toward your degree requirements
- Understand how your transfer coursework applies to your degree
- Review your Degree Progress Report and Spring 2027 class schedule
- Make course adjustments, if needed
Eligible students will find available dates, times, and participation instructions in their Applicant Portal.
Disability-Related Accommodations
Academic Advising & Course Registration (AA&CR) sessions are conducted in a group setting. If you require accommodation to participate, please submit the Event Accommodation Request Form at least seven business days before your session. Academic Advising works with Disability Accommodations and Support Services to provide disability-related accommodations.
Prepare for Advising
Before attending an advising appointment or AA&CR session:
- Submit all required transcripts to CSUCI. Your transfer coursework must be received and evaluated before it can be used to verify completed prerequisites. You may not be able to register for courses with prerequisites if the necessary transfer coursework is not reflected in your student record.
- Review your Degree Progress Report and Transfer Credit Report in CI Records.
- Review the two-year academic roadmap for your major.
- If you completed a course at a four-year university that you believe should satisfy a major requirement, contact the appropriate Program Chair to discuss whether a course substitution may be possible. Contact information is available on the Faculty Advisors webpage.
- Confirm that you can access your myCI portal and CI Records.
- Set up Duo Multi-Factor Authentication. Contact the ITS Help Desk if you need assistance.
- Register for available Spring 2027 classes if your enrollment date has begun.
- Bring your course selection and degree requirement questions.
Advising During Transfer Orientation
If you do not attend an advising appointment or AA&CR session in December, you may meet with an Academic Advisor during Transfer Orientation to review your class schedule and Degree Progress Report and make adjustments, if needed.
