Welcome, Spring 2027 Transfer Students!
Academic Advising is here to help you understand your degree requirements, identify appropriate courses, and register for the classes you need for your first semester at Cal State Channel Islands.
Complete the following steps before your enrollment date so you are ready to select and register for your Spring 2027 classes:
- Log into your myCI portal
- Set up Duo Multi-Factor Authentication. Visit the webpage for step-by-step setup instructions. If you need additional assistance setting up or using Duo, please contact the ITS Help Desk.
- Review your Degree Progress Report and Transfer Credit Report.
- Review your two-year academic roadmap in the University Catalog.
- Refer to the New Student Registration webpage for additional information.

Visit the New Student Registration webpage for information about enrollment dates, other registration instructions, and important deadlines.
Meeting with an academic advisor is optional. You may register for classes independently beginning on your assigned enrollment date. If you would like support, academic advisors will offer advising sessions in December. During a session, an advisor can help you:
- Identify courses that apply toward your degree requirements
- Understand how your transfer coursework applies to your degree
- Review your Degree Progress Report
- Review your Spring 2027 class schedule
- Make course adjustments, if needed
You may attend an advising session before registering, or you may register first and meet with an advisor afterward to review your schedule.

After registering for classes, review your Spring 2027 class schedule and Degree Progress Report to confirm that your courses apply toward your degree requirements.
If you did not meet with an Academic Advisor in December, you will have additional opportunities to receive advising support before the semester begins:
- Attend an advising session in January. Check your Applicant Portal for dates and participation information.
- Meet with an Academic Advisor during Transfer Orientation to review your class schedule and Degree Progress Report and make adjustments, if needed.
